CIDESCO COURSES



CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty Therapy


CIDESCO Training

Students must undergo a course of at least 1200 hours of training in practical and theoretical work in a registered CIDESCO School.


CIDESCO Examinations

On completion of the course, students take the CIDESCO Examination which consists of:

  • Facial examination
  • Body examination
  • Project with Case Histories
  • Written examination


Project with case histories

Candidates are required to research and write a Project assignment (2500-4000 words) on a subject relevant to the study of beauty therapy and connected to their Case Histories.


Diploma

The prestigious CIDESCO Diploma is awarded to candidates who have passed the CIDESCO examinations and given proof of having gained at least 600 hours work experience in a beauty center/salon.



CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty & Spa Management


Aim of the course

To give candidates the required information to be able to efficiently and effectively operate in a business where fundamental basic managerial skills and techniques are required. The course is designed to give candidates a more comprehensive understanding of how to manage all aspects within a beauty salon and/or spa environment.


Pre-requisite

The Beauty & Spa Management diploma is available to any person wishing to obtain a higher understanding of the management within the Beauty and Spa Industry. No prior Beauty or Spa training is required for this diploma, although an understanding of the Beauty and Spa industry is an advantage.


Training

All Candidates wishing to take the CIDESCO Beauty & Spa Management Diploma Examination must have completed their training of at least 300 hours with a CIDESCO School or National CIDESCO Section, covering all subjects in the Beauty & Spa Management Syllabus.


Examination

The examination for the Beauty & Spa Management Diploma consists of a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) paper, a Power Point Presentation and a Business Plan.



CIDESCO Certificate in Skin Care


Aim of the course

To provide candidates the required information and qualification to be able to efficiently and effectively work as skin care therapists including facials with electrical treatments, waxing and make-up.


Pre-requisite

The CIDESCO Certificate in Skin Care is available to any candidates.


Training

Candidates are required to have completed a course of at least 730 hours at a registered CIDESCO School covering all subjects in the CIDESCO Skin Care Syllabus. All candidates must have undertaken at least 4 school examinations (2 Practical and 2 Theory) during the course of their training before being eligible to sit their CIDESCO examination.


Examination

The examination for the Certificate in Skin Care consists of three parts:

  • Theoretical examination – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) exam
  • Practical examination
  • Project with Case Histories



CIDESCO Certificate in Aesthetics


Aim of the course

To provide candidates the required information and qualification to be able to efficiently and effectively work as aestheticians including facials with electrical treatments, waxing, make-up and manicure/pedicure.


Pre-requisite

The CIDESCO Certificate in Aesthetics is available to any candidates.


Training

Candidates are required to have completed a course of at least 800 hours at a registered CIDESCO School covering all subjects in the CIDESCO Aesthetics Syllabus.


Examination

All candidates must have undertaken at least 4 school examinations (2 Practical and 2 Theory) during the course of their training before being eligible to sit their CIDESCO examination.
The examination for the Certificate in Aesthetics consists of three parts:

  • Theoretical examination – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) exam
  • Practical examination
  • Project with Case Histories



Certificate in Body Therapy


Aim of the course

To provide candidates the required information and qualification to be able to efficiently and effectively work as body therapists including body treatments with electrical treatments and massage.


Pre-requisite

The CIDESCO Certificate in Body Therapy is available to any candidates.


Training

Candidates are required to have completed a course of at least 565 hours at a registered CIDESCO School covering all subjects in the CIDESCO Body Therapy Syllabus.


Examination

All candidates must have undertaken at least 4 school examinations (2 Practical and 2 Theory) during the course of their training before being eligible to sit their CIDESCO examination.
The examination for the Certificate in Body Therapy consists of three parts:

In addition to the courses above we also offer our students product training. With training from different product houses namely Environ, Dermalogica and Sh'zen. At completion of the courses the students are able to consult for the above products and receive badges and diplomas. School fees is paid in installments and a 30% deposit is required on enrollment. Entry requirements for all courses are at the sole discretion of the principal at the time of the interview and assessment. Preference will be given to those in possession of 5 O Levels or equivalent qualification or those with previous industry experience. Exam entrance is governed by the regulations of the relevant examining boards. Most courses are full time, requiring attendance daily. Weekend classes are only offered when the class is big enough.
